If you are looking for the 40+ year old Hispanic Haven, then this is the place to be! And if you aren't looking for any of that, then you should go anyway! Went here on a Friday night with some friends and they had a live band and DJ absolutely bumping to some great Spanish tunes! The drinks are amazing and I highly recommend the Cuban mule. The menu selection is sparse, but purposeful with a selective variety of Mexican styled options (it should also be noted that they offer a decent amount of vegan options). The crowd of people that were dancing and singing was truly a euphoric experience and provided a great dose of serotonin for my Friday afternoon. If i had to recommend in place in Oviedo, this establishment is most certainly at the top of my list!
Last min happy hour date night We went in during the middle of happy hour. It wasn't too busy but started to pick up. Like most restaurants at this time they are probably experiencing some staffing issues, it shows a bit, but our service was reasonable. The restaurant is nice with beautiful outdoor seating. Set in a nice area you can wonder around before or after dinner. We opted for vegan/vegetarian tapas for night; they have plenty of options, even a dessert. We weren't blown away but satisfied with the tapas we ordered. Had the vegan mango tart for dessert. That was probably our favorite. Entrees that made their way to other tables looked and smelled delicious. I would return it was overall a great experience.
Enjoyed the interactive play tonight. It was fun to dress in the period and be part of the story. We had been looking forward to going to De La Vega for a while. Many times in the past we couldn’t get in so we had high hopes for this event. Unfortunately the food was awful ,Even the dessert was bad! There was a special menu for tonight’s performance however the food was so bad, I will not go back to try their regular menu.
I dont usually post reviews on line, but we have been going to De la Vega for over a year now on a regular basis. We have taken many friends, but we finally determined last night that it is just too hard to go there any more. The restaurant was wide open, but they were waiting on reservations (even for 2-tops and 4-tops). The staff is unaware of the reservation policy and they seem to make it up as they go because it seems to change weekly. The food is just ok and the drinks are under-poured. The patio is great if you can get a seat out there. Not a terrible place, but not worth the money. We decided to go to Marlows and had a much better experience.
