Hakata Hibachi Steak Sushi

I absolutely love this place! Even though it just opened a few months ago, it’s already fantastic. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. The prices are standard for a Japanese steakhouse. It’s also quite family-friendly for a hibachi restaurant, which can often be challenging for small children. Plus, all the large paintings in the restaurant are created by the owner, who is quite talented! We will definitely be returning for lunch or dinner.

I'm sorry to have to write this review, but my visit raised some concerns. I hope this feedback can help the establishment address food safety issues. When I sat down and ordered a diet coke, I saw a mouse run across the floor and enter the kitchen. I promptly paid my $3.30 for the drink and left. This experience has been on my mind ever since! I was really looking forward to trying this new sushi place, but now I'm worried about their cleanliness, especially given that they serve raw food.

Every dining experience here has been different. First of all, the chefs are fantastic. However, the incredibly long wait times for drinks are excessive, and the waitress doesn't speak enough English to discuss the menu options properly. We try to be understanding, but it reaches a point where ordering becomes too challenging. For example, we received our main course before our appetizers. Additionally, a 20% tip was automatically added to one bill, while another included extra food we didn't order. Just be mindful of extra charges and enjoy the food!

I just had one of the worst sushi experiences I've ever encountered. While the service was decent, the food quality and prices were simply absurd. The sushi reminded me of gas station offerings—extremely low quality. It wouldn’t be so bad if the prices were more reasonable, but they’re actually higher than those at better sushi restaurants. To top it off, the chef didn't seem to know the names of any of the sushi pieces. I'm really disappointed, and I want to clarify that my comments are solely about the sushi experience, not the steakhouse.

The hibachi experience was quite typical, but enjoyable. The food was tasty, and the chef provided some entertaining moments. The sushi was also good. The restaurant itself appeared clean and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this place for both sushi and hibachi.
