We sought this on a recommendation. It was worth it. Nice unpretentious food (steak and vegetable soup) and a welcoming waitress. Wine reasonably prized.

We were in Fatima and were looking for the nice restaurant. We noticed a cosy, well visited restaurant Turpial. The food exceeded our expectations! And the service was great.

Frankly, I ate at the Turpial because it was the first decent looking restaurant I came across that was open. Apparently, Fatima being such a religious place, they all but roll in the sidewalks on Sunday evening. Nearly all the restaurants were closed, when I started looking at seven in the evening. That surprised me greatly, because it had been such a bustling place earlier in the day. But, although it was a chance encounter, I was more than satisfied with this restaurant. The lady who runs the place was very nice. The service was prompt and the food arrived promptly as well. I ordered steak and the one that arrived, while not thick, like they are often served in the United States, covered a good part of the plate. There were also generous sides of potatoes and cooked mixed vegetables. It was all piping hot and rib sticking. Nothing fancy. Just good solid food. The price was right as well. I recommend this place.

After touring middle Spain and Portugal eating Paella, Mariscos and Tapas finding a beautifully cooked steak was an absolute pleasure. The fish was also fantastic. Probably the best tasting fish we had while in Portugal.
