Bidrage med feedbackThe historic building, an old salt shed built in 1873, is incredibly intriguing. However, it no longer operates as a restaurant but rather as a pub and bar, known as Ravintola Suola-Aitta. While we weren't able to order food during our visit, we did have the option of various drinks. Groups can still enjoy meals with advanced reservations, and in the meantime, we were able to relax on the lovely summer terrace.
A bar/cafe on Oulu market square. Nice location to people watch, especially in the evening sun. Decent drinks, decent service, decent prices. Not sophisticated but nice
Suola-Aitta(=Salt Shed) is popular bar/restaurant/terrace in the middle of Oulu's Market Place. Offering everything from meat to fish, from salad to soups. During summer time this area is full of people, especially on nice weather. But we were there on a chilly and windy February evening and were surprised to see how many customers they have. So it must be popular among locals too.
I went for lunch with my father. He had poronkäristys and I had a salmon soup. He said the reindeer wasn 't as good as you 'd expect for the price. The soup I ate was excellent, creamy and tasty. Service was great!
