We don't go to this neighbourhood joint nearly as often as we should given how much we enjoy it every time we go. La Cocina Loca really does have someone for everyone, so long as you like Mexican! The variety of tacos is staggering; we like the tuna and el pastor the best. Nachos are fairly standard but good, and there are quite a few drink choices including the usual. The place is big enough not to seem too cramped or loud and small enough to still be cosy, and the decor is bright. A great spot for families, groups, and couples.

Gee, sometime I wonder if I have been to the same place a have some reviewers. La Cocina is in Mechanicsville, an outer suburb of Ottawa in the Kitchissippi Ward in central Ottawa. One review said that it was expensive, another said that the food was "Meh", "Chaque en à son gout". Well, I am not easy to please, this time I had a vegetarian tacos priced at the princely sum of $4 each, so I ordered three. It was artistically presented, and very tasty and certainly not dry at all. My family (3 others) had tacos, one had the "Pollo Tandoori" and was more than happy, I cannot remember what the other 2 had, but we were all very pleased. The staff were charming, ready to help and to please and very patient with some of the slow deciders in our group and never pushy. How could you call this expensive, and I cannot figure out how the food could be called "Meh". I guess that the old adage holds, "You can please all the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but not all people all the time. Why not go and see for your self? Maybe you will se us there.
