Taj Indian Cuisine - Ottawa

To start off, I must say this is the best butter chicken I’ve tasted so far in ottawa. I’ve been to many Indian restaurants, and this place takes the cake. The naan is absolutely delicious and fresh, went perfectly with the meal.The portions for the price however, are terrible. I seen the reviews for this place and noticed bigger bowls when ordering the butter chicken considering it’s like 25$? We got a small white bowl, not even what I see in the pictures posted online… the service wasn’t great at all. When asking questions about certain times on the menu, there was a young Indian girl who kept telling me she doesn’t know, and went to go grab another waitress to help us. Your staff should be educated on the menu if they are going to be in the front of house. No one checked to see how things were until the end of our meal.My husbands meat on his assorted platter was very dry, he didn’t even finish his meal. That was a 35$ dish… seeing the other comments on here, I see that’s a normal issue here. The rice was made in a rice cooker, you can tell because it’s very sticky and seems like it was a 5 minute rice. We saw a local influencer posting videos/pictures of the food here and we were really looking forward to the experience but it just wasn’t what it was hyped up to be.

We were 12 girls, which they accommodated with no issues! Food was incredible and the service was unbelievable! Everyone there was incredibly sweet and it felt like we were having dinner at a friends or family members house !I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!!Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options

Not gonna lie i m well versed in indian cuisine!! Very proper!! Delicious and good price!!

Ordered food through delivery app. Prices are very expensive even for the app. Garlic Naans were uneven and doughy also very plain tasting. Butter chicken was flavourless tasted like Campbell's tomato soup. Korma was also very bland the two dishes were almost indistinguishable. I ate here precovid and i remember it being pretty tasty in comparison to this time.This review may seem harsh but if you charge premium prices you should be selling premium food.

Food was flavourless and over priced. Got the chicken vindaloo and tasted nothing like it actually should. Ordered a drink that I didn’t get until the end of my meal even though the restaurant was practically empty. Disappointed with my meal. Won’t be back.
