This place is amazing. I it's been there forever and it's hiding in plain sight. I love going there and will continue to bring friends.

Wonderful taste easy on the wallet!. Whenever we are on the Byward Market, my daughter and I make it a point to stop by Shafali for lunch. The owner of this small take out stand is so friendly, you will feel immediately at home. And the food cannot be beat.<br/ <br/ One of their best sellers is the Tikka Chicken sandwich and there's a good reason why it sells it has mildly spicy chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and tikka sauce, all wrapped up in a hot, fresh naan. They make the naan on site and it will literally go from the oven to your order. There simply aren't enough words to communicate how wonderful this sandwich is, so you simply must try it.<br/ <br/ But the sandwich isn't the only delicious menu item. I love their curry chickpeas, served on jasmine rice. And their Saag Paneer is fanastic as well.<br/ <br/ The price is significantly less than eating in an Indian Restaurant, but it does not scrimp on quality or taste. If you are looking for an inexpensive lunch on the Market, Shafali would be my #1 recommendation.

Great food!. I love this place. The owners are really lovely people (as are all the staff) and their food is really delicious and fresh. I recommend the chicken tikka wrap. Mmmm.
