Bidrage med feedbackNot what it was. Went on Sunday at four, service good, seafood good. I had grilled shrimp and vegetables. Shrimp was good, eight on plate but vegetables consisted of two small heirloom carrots and one sprig of sweet broccoli, not my idea of vegetables. Meal not balanced, very disappointed. Had been two weeks prior, less shrimp but a good portion of vegetables well mixed. No consistency. Left hungry. Rest of table (4 altogether) had salmon, two with vegetables, and sweet potato fries, again vegetables same as mine. Dessert for two, two coffees, bill for four $212.55 with tip of $19.32. My food of shrimp and vegetables left me hungry, dessert $11.00 each, won't be going back, restaurant not same.
Two couples, three orders of fish and chips, one of the salmon fillet. Not a hint of a complaint. The salmon was done perfectly (my main). The staff is young, polite and attentive. (beware of the cutie with the brown eyes who loves to tease) Keep on cooking like that, guys, and you'll continue to be busy.
Best seafood quality and preparation you will ever find in Ottawa The calimari is to die for. The clam chowder is amazing.
Best fish and chips anywhere I've ever tried. Tony and Tina are great hosts and the staff is always incredibly friendly.
Sadly we did not go during the height of the pandemic. There is always a too-close-for comfort line-up, no reservations taken. Last Friday even though I could see 4 empty tables, they still didn't seat those in line, many who were mobility impaired. Post-pandemic there were steep price increases. I get that places have to make up for lost revenues during the pandemic. BUT REALLY, now except for the fish and chips plate, most of the main courses are a la carte: add extra for vegetables, add extra for potatoes, even add extra to blacken the fish, even a charge to split a dish with a fellow dinner. I don't think I will return, despite my love for the paella and the boulliabasse.
