Food + Bar - Ottawa

This restaurant is a wine lover's dream! The sommeliers are incredible at pairing wines with delicious dishes, particularly the appetizers which were exceptional.

Rarely do I come across a restaurant that gets everything right, but Fauna certainly does! My wife and I, who are usually picky about food and often prefer eating at home, were pleasantly surprised by the experience at Fauna. The service was impeccable - attentive to our needs and quick to answer any questions. The food was perfect. We enjoyed the Venison tartare, which was hearty and had a hint of freshness with a green mousse topping. My wife had the duck, which was also perfect in taste and presentation. I opted for the halibut, which did not disappoint. The flourless chocolate cake for dessert was the perfect ending to our meal. The quality of food and service, as well as the overall dining experience, exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. Fauna is a gem in Ottawa and we hope to see more restaurants like this in the same price range. Kudos to the owner team and chefs for a job well done!

The first time in the fauna, and very happy we went. Food was well presented, very tasty, and portions not too big. Service was good, atmosphere was perfect, not too loud, not too elegant, but felt good, easy to dress. Not cheap, but worth it.

In general, the food, presentation, and atmosphere were all beautiful at this restaurant. However, it was quite expensive and the portions were small. We tried a few appetizers, all of which were delicious, but the crab dish ($24) was disappointingly small. The standout dishes were the shishito peppers and the strawberry salad ($17). The main courses were the Halibut ($44) and the dry-aged rib eye for two ($110). Unfortunately, the fish was overcooked and there wasn't much on the plate. The rib eye, on the other hand, was fantastic and the vegetables were unique and tasty. The apple cake dessert ($14) was small, but the flavors were delicious. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

Visited this restaurant with a couple of colleagues after a business meeting. We were welcomed by a friendly member of waiting staff and shown to our table straight away. The causal decor is unassuming. The food was great, but one of our party was a...vegetarian and had few options. The service was good, informative and timely. I would happily eat here again.
