Bidrage med feedbackThe Dolsot Cafe was a wonderful experience. My partner and I came specifically to taste the seafood hotpot and Korean BBQ ribs. The meal also came with side dishes such as rice, kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, and potatoes. The ribs were incredibly delicious and arrived sizzling hot, accompanied by caramelized onions that were irresistible. The seafood hotpot was good, but I would have preferred it to be spicier. My partner didn't enjoy the fish in the soup, but I personally liked it along with everything else in the dish. The service was excellent, and the restaurant started to get busier as time passed. It was convenient to have the Korean market next door, where we tried a soda milk yogurt drink and other items like glass noodles for the hotpot. I highly recommend this place.
I ordered through Uber Eats and was pleasantly surprised. The Bulgogi was decent, but I was especially impressed by how good the kalbi was. The pancake was a letdown for me, but I did enjoy the kimchi. Overall, I would definitely order from here again.
Dolsot Cafe is a charming, family-owned restaurant located next to the Arum grocery store in Ottawa. It's a great spot for a date or small group outings, although larger groups may find it a bit cramped. The restaurant has a back room with a small play area for children, but it can get crowded and they may struggle to handle big orders. While the food is good, I have had better dishes at Alirang where everything comes out hot. The deep fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce has tasty sauce, but the chicken could be crispier like at Mugoongwha. I was interested in trying the spicy ramen hotpot, but unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to order it.
They make good Korean food, and they sell good Korean products. The people who work there seem to be quite friendly, and the food somewhat reminds you of South Korea.
Birthday dinner with some of my best friends! We each ordered one dish and shared the various portions. I chose the classic dolsot bibimbap because why not? My friend ordered the dukbokki #50 which is rice cakes with various veggies and fish cakes in a spicy sauce. My other friend, who isn't at all familiar with Korean food, chose the Tonkatsu( fried pork cutlet with rice and sweet sauce)I loved my bibimbap; that crispy rice is so delightful. My egg was a bit too over cooked so it didn't coat the rest of the dish like I prefer. My friend who ordered the rice cake dish found it quite spicy but was still very enjoyable. I also ate most of the Korean side dishes that come with the meal such as kimchi and bean sprouts. The service was quite prompt and they let us just chat for 45 mins after we had finished our meal. The prices are very affordable and we all left happy and satisfied.
