A&W Restaurant - Ottawa

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. Despite ordering a dish that typically comes with sauces, they were not included. It was frustrating and unexpected. I hope they address this issue so that I can consider dining there again in the future.

We love this franchise. Whenever we visit Canada, it's the only place we dine at.

I hate to give this restaurant an average rating, but I frequent it often because it is close to our house. The breakfast buffet is great, but one worker named Divine is not very good. The restroom is also in terrible condition. I only use it if absolutely necessary. There are some excellent workers there, so I suggest they clean the restroom and either train Divine or move them to a different position.

Heard about A W having breakfast from my daughter-in-law who liked their bacon eggs, so decided to give it a try this morning. Nice decor (new location), server employee friendly. Ordered the All Canadian Special. Comes with eggs (your choice of slices of tomato, medium sized sausages, medium sized slices of bacon (asked for crispy and got crispy), hash brown rectangular patty, slices of toast a large mug of coffee. You give your order, they give you a tray with your coffee and an order number sign and bring the meal over when ready. Service was very quick as only one other person in the restaurant at the time. There is a sideboard with carafes of cream and milk and the other usual condiments. The tables and booths all have salt pepper shakers, as well as a napkin dispenser. (nice touch). There was plenty to eat. Eggs, hash browns, tomato slices tasted good. Hash-browns not as greasy as at say McDonalds, and larger. My toast was under toasted (but this can be easily rectified), I found the sausages had an interesting spicing to them-I think most would like them but some might not. Same with the bacon. The total bill with tax was but no tip needed. Looks like all day breakfasts but at some point (not sure of time) the bacon and eggs plates aren't offered. Will go back again when in the area and try one of their breakfast sandwiches which my son assured me are very good.

Hunt Club at Merivale A&W has gone down big time. Food not as good anymore. Tastes like mush. And their prices are so high and crazy.
