Aux Delices Bakery - Ottawa

We ordered an array of fancy items for guests from Aux Delices Bakery and Pastry. We wanted to showcase Ottawa with a variety of fresh cookies and baked goods, including decorated sugar cookies. Every single piece came wrapped in plastic, rock hard, stale, and inedible. We were embarrassed in front of special attendees and guests. The Owner made several public attempts to deny responsibility, firstly claiming they did Not even carry the product they sent to us; secondly, blaming their neighbouring business competitors; and finally blatantly repeating the false assertion that we did Not know the business from which we ordered special items for our guests. Fortunately, we saved all the proof of purchase and patronage from Aux Délices Bakery and Pastry, including the Owner’s business cards, stapled to our order, the boxes and stickers from this business, and lastly, our full receipt, and we attach here that proof. There are many beautiful bakeries in Ottawa, with truly fresh, luscious product. Aux Délices Bakery is Not recommended.

I bought an assortment of a dozen pastries. As per the title, none of them were fresh. While they looked good but they were dry and tasteless. The lack of quality ingredients was disconcerting given the prices charged.

Great Bakery. I ordered funny cookies (Magic Unicorns decorate your own) and a Sacher Cake delicious. During this difficult time, I found that owner of the bakery was attentive to details, really care for quality and made sure that everything was perfectly clean. She call me when my order was ready to pick up.

I ordered decorated your own cookies from Aux Delices for my daughters birthday. The email I received indicated my order would be ready after 10 am. I arrived at the bakery at 10 and called for close to a half hour to pickup my order. The staff (owner? didn’t show up until 10:30 and then told me my order wouldn't be ready for up to another 30 minutes. Apparently, they send another email when your order is ready but this is mentioned NOWHERE in their confirmation (see attached photos . The staff member would not refund any of my purchase or provide another product in lieu.

I dropped in the Aux Delices bakery as I needed a dessert to take with me to a dinner at friends. I was amazed at the selection of pies and cakes. They all looked so good. Because we were having salmon, a fatty fish, I decided on a key lime pie. The pie was topped with a beautifully toasted meringue. Everyone at dinner raved about how good the pie tasted; it had just the right amout of sweetness and tartness. We cleaned the pie plate. I'll be visiting this bakery the next time I'm in Ottawa.
