Black Kale - Ostrava

Nice interior, restaurant and shop with some rare goods (vegan protein powders, some supplements, sweets etc We tried some bowls. The BALI bowl was huge, and delicious. Unfortunately, it wasn’t styled wery well there was lots of sprouts on the top (you couldn’t see anything else), all sauce on one side and all rice was in the bottom. But there was no space to mix it together. #Veganuary

Many of my visits to this place were rather non-pleasant. Every time I ordered potato fries to my burger, they were either undercooked or oversalted. Burger (avocado seitan) was great though. Serves vegan, vegetarian and raw dishes and sells some other vegan products.

Black Kale is a sweet venue with garden seating and friendly staff but I found the meals not very tasty. The beetroot burger was bland, not seasoned at all. The zucchini patties were dry and tasteless and the potato salad tasted funny. The oyster mushroom soup was fine and the fries were also good. The meals are extremely overpriced though. Their basic beyond meat burger for 279 CZK is the most expensive I have seen in this country and 65 CZK for a soup is also on the expensive side. The drinks are affordable, rich selection and really good. They also sell some healthy snacks like yoghurts, kimchi, mylks and snacks. Sundays open only until 3:30 p.m.

I visited Black Kale with my friends, as it was the only open veg restaurant in Ostrava on Sunday. The restaurant has a nice garden. The waiting time was rather long and the food we ordered didn't come at the same time when my plate arrived my friends have already finished eating. Regarding food, I had some noodles, which were simple, but very tasty. The burger and tortilla that I tried were average. I would assume that the Asian dishes are the best choice when visiting this restaurant.
