We did not plan early enough to reserve on the terrace for lunch, but were lucky when we arrived and there was a space available for us. It was a hot day, but cool breeze on the hill under a umbrella with an incredible...View made it a wonderful experience. The menu is small, but all our choices were delicious. Very recommended for the experience.
The view at the restaurant was beautiful, even through the glass doors. The Merlot was lovely, but the disappointment came with our lunch. The vegetarian taco was a greasy, deep-fried dough covered in a few black and pinto beans (supposed to be chickpeas), some of which were hard. It was topped with wilted arugula, a few small bits of squash, and lacked flavor. The soup was just okay, priced at $16. For a relatively simple lunch with wine and a beer, our bill came to around $60. We expected more and informed the server that they need to add more flavor to their dishes. Overall, our lunch was uneventful.
We had a lovely lunch on the patio, beautiful view in the sun and warmth, overlooking Osoyoos Lake! First trip up to Nkmip Resort and Winery, it's way bigger than we thought with lots of other things to do including wine tasting, eating, hotels, golf...course, RV site, Cultural center and a heck of a view! The server we had was nice, table outside on the grass, and good food. Menu was a bit of a surprise as I had looked at it on-line only to find out it was the Spring menu and not the Fall menu so much less choice of food items, too bad! The prices are as you would expect at such a resort, expensive, but not unfair. We will try it again next year and make sure we go when the bigger food menu is there to choose from lol!
I recently visited the restaurant at Nk'Mip Cellars for an early dinner after a tiring day of driving. I ordered the Steelhead Trout and a glass of Pinot Noir. The trout and vegetables were expertly prepared, light and without excess fat or oil. It was one of the healthiest meals I have had in a restaurant in a long time. The Pinot Noir was from their winery and was also outstanding. I definitely plan to return and purchase a bottle of the Pinot Noir to enjoy at home.
