Halibut House Fish & Chips Family Restaurant

I recently visited the Halibut House on Simcoe St. in Oshawa for the first and second time within a week, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. Our first visit was for take-out, and the second was for dining in. We were impressed with the food quality on both occasions. Having previously visited the location in Port Perry, we decided to try this one closer to our home, and we were not disappointed. The haddock and chips we ordered were of excellent quality, with generous portions at a reasonable price. The service was top-notch, and the restaurant itself was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The extensive menu offers a variety of fish and seafood options, as well as breakfast at fair prices. I highly recommend a visit to Halibut House and can't wait to return myself.

I purchased a grilled halibut dinner for about $18. The portion size was extremely small, consisting of only two bites of fish. I contacted the restaurant to complain and was assured that it would be addressed, but I never received any follow-up. This experience felt like a rip off!

I took my family to have breakfast on Family Day. We ordered three daily specials and decided to treat ourselves to some hot chocolate as well because the prices were so good. The service was excellent, the breakfast deal was fantastic, and we didn't have to wait at all. We will definitely be returning for breakfast, or maybe even try their Fish and Chips specials as well.

This is not fine dining but the food is fine, the service is fine, the atmosphere is fine so, maybe it is fine dining. Great Fish Chips.
