Halibut House - Oshawa

Halibut House is a relatively new restaurant here in Burlington. The atmosphere is bright and inviting. Had the haddock and chips big piece of perfectly breaded fish and accompanied with lots of fresh fries. Everyone in our party really enjoyed it. Very reasonably priced and will definitely will be back again.

The halibut is excellent. The chips are mediocre and there is lots of room for improvement. They tasted and had the texture the same as frozen chips bought at a grocery store. With the high competition of fish and chip restaurants in the area, they have a lot of work to do.

My husband and I had a very nice halibut dinner with fries and Greek salad. The fish and fries were very good. Our server was very friendly and the service was very quick. Would definitely recommend to anyone. We will be sure to go again in the future.

Fortunately or unfortunately we picked one of the most busy times, Good Friday however the service was good the take out was lined up out the door but we were seated in no time. I have to say the halibut was excellent not greasy and the fries we good to. We have tried many fish & chip places and this one is definately we will revisit.

My boyfriend and I decided to try somewhere new, and left there last night feeling a little like I had just been in the twilight zone. Being a Friday, there was a steady stream of customers, and we were seated at a long table of 6 in the middle of the restaurant. Eventually another couple joined the table at the other end; the table behind us got others seated in the middle. Awkward setup. I ordered grilled salmon and chips, he got grilled Halibut and Greek salad... We had to switch the fish on our plates, it came out wrong. It was then we realized we hadn't been asked if we wanted any drinks, but were doing better than the table behind us, who had their food and no utensils. While chewing my food, one like bite of fish and a few fries remaining on my plate, the waitress comes by asking if she can clear my plate or am I still working on it!? Clearly, I was still working on it... I was unable to respond as I was chewing. Hopefully a one-off, a bad night for the waitress, but we won't be back. For the price, and amount of food we got for what we ordered (unbattered fish), and the twilight zone experience, we won't be back.
