Five Guys - Oshawa

I had the option of having my burger in a lettuce wrap or a container, and I chose the latter. The burger was delicious and the fries were amazing. I was diagnosed with being gluten free 5 months ago and every time I have eaten out before, I experienced gas and acid reflux within 2 hours. However, I'm happy to report that I had no symptoms from my meal today.

I have visited other Five Guys locations before, but this particular one could use some improvement in training their staff to be more knowledgeable about allergies and ingredients. During my visit, I asked the employee at the counter if the fries were gluten-free (even though I already knew they were) and she incorrectly said they were not. When I inquired further, she explained that this was because they are cooked in peanut oil.

The burgers at this restaurant are really delicious. The first time I went, I was a bit hesitant about the price, but it is definitely worth it. The patties are freshly made every day, as well as their fries. They give you a generous portion of fries and the Cajun seasoning is amazing. The best part is that you have 16 free options to customize your burger. The old school rock music playing in the background adds to the overall atmosphere of the store.

Sooo good. Went in very skeptical and after seeing the price, was even more so. My first experience was the double cheese and it was easily the best burger that I had taken a bite out of in Durham. Fries we're perfect and usually are. I've had a few bland burgers that I think weren't seared properly but 95% of the time it's just too good. Would love if they had a cheddar cheese option but wouldn't keep me from going if they never do. It's a shame it's so calorie loaded but too be expected I guess.<br/ <br/ Here's hoping In -n- Out comes up here too ;

One of my favourite places for a burger and fries because of the consistency and quality. I’d recommend the Cajun seasoned fries or ask for seasoning on the side. The malted milkshakes are amazing and not easy to find. They offer an option for a lettuce bun (extra charge) too which I love and the staff are always kind and prepare my order well.
