For a city the size of Osceola, Arkansas, you could not expect to be confused if you choose a good cheeseburger. JuJu and I like to eat so that this is not a bad problem. There are three really good and two phenomenal selections on foot from our office, but for this Timing is important. Timing wasn't on our side today... or at least I didn't feel like pushing my luck, as Sandbar Grille did. I have to admit that this is planned later than the usual lunch. Sandbar Grille has a little secret. The best danged reuben... ever! And maybe the only one in town. A few months ago, I had business visitors in the town of Memphis. We had lunch at the Sandbar Grille and of course I ordered a reub. Everyone at the table looked at me kind of weird. 'You order a reub in Osceola, Arkansas? Yup! My determination was enough that the guy at my right also ordered one. Good what he did. These two sandwiches encircled the table and I went a little hungry back to the office as usual, but that's OK. These guys are still talking about an extraordinary reub and a real surprise to find it in Osceola. The menu is much wider than you could expect and the specials are great. Oh, and a first-class cheeseburger.
I loved the hamburger/steak with corn taters, gravy and onions and black eyebrows and maize bread with roasted maize. Tasted like homemade cooking for me. Yum yum.
