Bidrage med feedbackWhat is pleasant and surprising to find! We are Japanese foods and are not easily impressed. decided to give this place an attempt based on reviews here. We managed to get a table up on Saturday night. We were served by Junpei who went beyond and beyond to ensure that we were well served by the 9-course meal. While the presentation was not kaiseki standard, the quality of ingredients and preparation was innovative and made for a great meal. I recommend you to visit Asai Togei, especially when you shop in the Shinsaibashi area.
We had an amazing set course dinner at Asai Togei. Our waiter, Jumpei explained the dishes very well in English. His explanations really helped us appreciate what we were eating.
Delicious food with one of excellent English speaking chef, who is really nice and helpful. A whole chef team is professional and everyone is really nice here, highly recommended.
I personally hate reviewing places, but this place was better than expected. I knew this place was going to be good based on the reviews I had read, but they exceeded my expectations. During my trip to Osaka my friend and I had a wonderful lunch here. We were running late because we got lost in the shopping area, but received a very kind a warm welcome when we entered the restaurant. From there our waiter very attentively explained how the kaiseki lunch was going to occur and answered any questions we had. With each course he explained each component of the dish, if the ingredients used were local, and if the dish was a seasonal special. The atmosphere was very warm and cozy and the staff was attentive but gave us space and time to enjoy our meal. We ended up getting the middle tiered set ¥5400/person) which was just perfect, but I would splurge on the 8 course set next time I visit Osaka. One bonus that I should mention is the restaurant takes cards as most travelers to Japan will understand that most places are cash only establishments.
Simply the best meal of our lives. We went to Asai Togei to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and we couldn’t have wished for a more delicious or memorable experience. Everything was perfection! The sashimi dish was heaven on earth! My husband is a vegan and they accommodated him so kindly and generously. The master chef was even so kind as to make us a special dessert and a commemorative piece of calligraphy (on the spot! to help us remember this special day for us.
