Bidrage med feedbackThe brisket tacos are amazing. They have so much flavor and are full of meat. Staff are friendly. Nice atmosphere.
My wife and I had lunch here. Friendly staff. We had the guacamole and chips appetizer which was very good. I had the brisket taco and black beans and both were tasty. Non alcoholic drink selection needs an upgrade. Our drinks were a water bottle and a soft drink can. Will return.
I debated whether to leave this review because the people working at this place are top notch. I give them 5 stars for their first class wonderful service. Super happy people and willing to go the extra mile. Really cool fun restaurant. A warm atmosphere that makes you feel welcome! And, we appreciated how all of the food ingredients are sourced as ethically as possible. We really wanted to love this place! But, the food was just... ok. We got a whole assortment of tacos and the tamales and they all felt like they were missing some dimension of flavor. We took them home and added some sauce and spices and fixed them up, but I expected more from this place with its inclusion in the Michelin guide. It might have been just a fluke the night we went, and maybe the chef forgot to try our food first before sending it out. I hope that is the case, and it could be that your experience will be different. This review is mainly for people going through the Michelin guide that are looking to be wowed by restaurants on that list. If you decide to try Black Rooster maybe temper your expectations.
We have had half a dozen meals here before and happen to be in the neighborhood and thought we would pop in. Today I will say it was more Christopher Plumber than a Chris Evans (instead of a hot kind sexy meal it was more of an old taste to it that bites later), plus the meal overall was served a bit sloppy. The Mexican hot cocoa was served in two to go cups because it was spilled all over the 1st cup it was poured into, I would have started over but maybe that is just me being picky (man I sound like super Karen)! Anyway, nachos were hot, tasty and tons of calories and we had a kale salad that they made with almost no dressing (balances out the nachos). The other five times, dialed up!!! This time…ehh.
The tacos are the soft corn style that represent street food in the southwest. They are good but small. 3 will cost you around $15 (U.S. . Chips and Salsa would have run another $5 so I skipped it. It was good, but not twice as good as Chipotle.
