Bidrage med feedbackThe rolls tasted pretty good but the portions were tiny considering the price. We basically paid $16 for each roll that's the size of small makis that are usually under $10. You can see in the picture how much white space is left on the plate. The restaurant was run down with sticky floors and tables and my seat had a huge rip on it. The ambiance and quality did not match the price point. It felt like dining at a hole in the wall but paying fine dining prices for small fine dining portions.
I’m giving this restaurant only 2 stars because the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service was poor. We were nearly the only customers there, so I can't excuse the lack of attention due to a busy atmosphere. There was no assistance provided for a high chair; I ended up using my own seat. When we ran out of water, I asked to modify an ingredient in one of the sushi dishes due to a shrimp allergy, but the waiter said that wasn’t possible. When the food arrived, we were not given any utensils. The staff member seemed more focused on watching the game than attending to customers, as he didn't even bring the check after I adjusted the baby seat. This isn't the first time we've experienced poor service here. I thought we’d give it another shot, but we won’t be returning. This was on November 13 at 5 PM.
The service was acceptable, though the server took a bit longer to bring out the food. The restaurant had a clean appearance, and the upbeat music created a light and modern atmosphere. I started with the steamed chicken gyoza, which was a delicious appetizer—the chicken pieces were moist and tender. For my main dish, I chose the SoDo chicken curry. Unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked, although the curry had a decent flavor. Personally, I found it a bit too oily for my taste, and the spice level was milder than I expected for a medium dish. Given the higher prices for the meals, I was not particularly impressed with the overall quality and preparation. Perhaps I should have opted for the sushi instead. I'll consider that for next time.
To start, the wasabi was crushed into the dipping bowl, which was frustrating. The presentation received a mere 1 star from me (see photos; I had already eaten some Maki and Nigiri before taking the picture). I can't blame the soy sauce for my dissatisfaction—it’s my own tasting choices to consider. Our server appeared rushed, detached, and indifferent, which suggested a lack of training or experience; it wasn’t just bad service, it was perplexing. He wore his mask under his nose, which made me wonder what the point was. Though my wife and I both ordered duck, she received her dish first, while mine arrived a frustrating 10 minutes later. For service, I would rate it 1.5 stars. The flavors were lacking, and the portion sizes were inconsistent. My wife’s Teriyaki salmon was disappointingly thin but tasted "okay." The steamed rice was dry and mostly left untouched. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I expected much more from a place that seems to strive for a semi-fine dining atmosphere.
Delicious food! Can't wait to go back and try more! I have some of the appetizers instead of a full meal. I have edamame $5), tempura prober $7) and firecracker shrimp $6) Everything was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The tempura was perfectly broken and cooked for perfection. I recommend the fireworks sash. The sweet Thai chili sauce was a great compliment to this light appetizer choice.
