Hills Maple Leaf Restaurant - Orillia

I'm a big fan of local greasy spoons with great food, this is not one of them. Service was fast and friendly but the food wasn't great or even good. Everything that came out to the tables look over fried and burnt. They used basa for fish and chips, no thank you. The fries are the frozen variety with an aftertaste that is a turn off for me. The burger wasn't a frozen patty which was good-a little undercooked. It tasted okay. I won't go back. Went because I heard it was great food, not even close.

Nice spot, easy to find on Memorial Ave. The waitresses are very nice, cordial, helpful, service oriented, and funny. Hills has been there quite a few years, many, simple menu Breakfast Lunch and Dinner selections. Good food, fast service for a small diner. Sit in the middle rows so the air conditioning doesn't get to you (can be cold cold). Been back here many times and will again. Try it you'll like it, neat family spot.

Very nice place, local, cozy, service is 100%. We talked about the historical facts of the restaurant. Family has been running the business for generations. Food is awesome you cannot go wrong.

We have eaten here for breakfast and supper over the years. Portions are huge and reasonable prices. Very friendly atmosphere and people. Its a little small and noisey when full but well worth it.

Hills has been in Orillia for many many years. It was a great spot to dine cheaply and the food good and fast. It is looking really really tired now. Needs a huge facelift and maybe new menus. Ours was dirty and the floor too. Doesn't make you confident that the food will be edible if everything you touch has a bit of grime on it. We were too polite to walk out and the food was ok. I won't be back though.
