La Carreta Peruvian - Orem

We had a wonderful dining experience here! Our meals were served promptly, and our waiter was exceptionally friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The food was absolutely delightful! I chose a dish the waiter referred to as green spaghetti, which turned out to be fettuccine topped with delicious steak. The portion was just right—not too much to make me feel overly full. My husband ordered a variation of a fajita, served without the tortilla; it included beef, chicken, and shrimp. He mentioned that the shrimp weren't overly seafood-flavored, and all the flavors complemented each other beautifully! They also offer a kid's menu with classic options like chicken nuggets. We highly recommend La Carreta to anyone. We will definitely return! Parking was a breeze, with plenty of spots available near the entrance and no stairs to navigate.

We ordered yuccas with Huancaina sauce and the Huancaina sauce didn't taste like yellow chili at all, it looked like mayonnaise that had been added to make it look yellow. Disappointing. The other dishes we ordered were Ceviche and Lomo Saltado with acceptable flavor.

The quality of the food has declined; my meat was overly dry, and the chips weren't fresh!

During our visit to Salt Lake City, we decided to take an extra day to explore the nearby areas and were delighted to discover a Peruvian restaurant in Orem. The service was outstanding, and the food exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend trying the Chicharrón de Camarón, as well as the steak plate with plantain, rice, and fries (bistec La Carreta).

Excellent and authentic Peruvian cuisine in a cozy, beautiful atmosphere. Wide array of Peruvian specialties and beverages. The only drawback is the service. I had to get up and remind the young men working as waitstaff (teens-early 20’s) that they forgot to bring me more water (they decided to take their own breaks instead).
