Moe's Southwest Grill - Opelika

Upon my arrival, I received a warm welcome. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and sincere. I’m basing my review on their customer service and the quality of the food, both of which were enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

At the Opelika location, I arrived just after 8 o'clock, and Tony and Ryan, two of the staff members, were friendly and helpful while taking my friend's and my order. They prepared our order quickly and with great service!

The dining room was dirty and seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in days, which was off-putting and made me lose my appetite. Additionally, there was no regular salsa in either bowl. I won't be returning.

As I observed the chaos, one of the servers looked utterly confused, unable to tell the difference between cilantro and lettuce. Bless him. He wiped his nose and forehead with the back of his forearm every 15 seconds as sweat poured down his face. The whole situation was so surreal that I didn't even care about my nachos anymore; I just wanted some popcorn to enjoy as I watched from the other side of the glass. By the time I reached the register, it had been 31 minutes since I walked in. I don’t know—maybe this is just how things are now. But I used to love walking in and hearing a group of energetic, surfer-like kids shout, "Welcome to Moe's!!"

No matter when we visit, it seems like the tables, chairs, booths, floor, and drink station are never cleaned. Cleanliness is a major concern here, highlighted by the flies buzzing around the trash that's left scattered everywhere. We even had to wipe down our own table and chairs while the staff just stared at us in confusion. This lack of cleanliness makes me question the sanitation of the food and the people preparing it, so I've decided not to return until something changes. Additionally, there is typically at least one odd employee on duty—like a young woman who stared at and harassed my boyfriend and me while we ate, and another who made us feel like our presence was a bother. It raises the question of who is managing this place.
