I love going in an old fashion business and smelling the aroma of wood floors, freshly brewed. coffee and floor cover books. great little sitting outside to enjoy their coffee or tee with good weather. huge collection of 'veteran' books about every thema to surf. painting, sculpture, clothing and accessories by independent craftsmen/artists. I have the feeling immediately that everything in the woods general store was carefully chosen for quality by the individual who led woods. very rare experience in a world of mass produced, foreign made, sticky things that they see in every tourist site with workers who 't a warning how they help and not even know / care what they sell. try woods. you will love it.
Woods restaurant provides a mix of traditional food and camping supplies. They offer baked goods and fresh meat for grilling. One drawback is the lack of a machine for filling water bottles with drinking water, as their supplier operates a strict exchange program that only accepts bottles without other logos, regardless of payment.
Very good supply with food, milk products, including fresh local carrots crumble etc. in season, as well as a bakery on the premises in a welcoming venue. taste their delicious bread, rolls, baked and pizza bread. also excellent deli for meat of all kinds. they pay a little more, but have the convenience of shopping near the park. the natives wish they were open all year round! We stopped at Woods to ask for directions to our B&B, which was only a few kilometers away. As soon as we walked in, the amazing smell of the bakery filled the air. This bakery is known for their delicious breads, scones, cinnamon rolls, and cakes. They also offer high-quality meats and products that you don't always find in businesses in resort cities. The owners take pride in what they sell, and it shows. Make sure to start your day with a visit to their bakery for the best selection. If you're on your way to Riding Mountain National Park, make a quick stop at Woods - you won't regret it!
We were driving through Onanole on our way to Riding Mountain National Park and we saw a sign mentioning that the Woods General Store had a bakery and they had gluten free options as well. When we walked in, it seemed like a pretty typical...resort grocery store and the bakery didn't seem to be anything special either, but boy were we wrong. We were looking at the gluten free baking when Sam, the baker came and talked to us. She said she had just baked gf zucchini blueberry muffins we could have (we did), and we also picked up a loaf of gf multigrain bread and some gf apple cinnamon mini loaves. We also picked up some non gf cinnamon buns. Everything was fantastic and we will be back!
