The Taj Kabob & Curry - Omaha

Needed a fast lunch and stopped in for the buffet. Was pleasantly surprised how big and clean the interior was. The outside of the strip mall made me wonder. The overall food was decent. I got what I paid for. Obviously, for $10 your not going to get the flavors and quality of a Himalayas in the old market or Jaipur. The tikka chicken drum stick was actually moist and delicious, usually those buffets dry it out, granted I did get there at 11:30. The chunks of chicken tikka masala was a little dry and the flavor was ok but nothing to rave about. The dish is bland compared to the high end sit down Indian restaurants in town but like I said for what I paid I feel this was a great value.

We love Indian cusine and that's why we go out to try different Indian restaurants around town. We had been at this place twice now, normally order veggies recipe, but had the worst Indian food last time. The vegetables tasted like they were bought from the frozen section, rice was undercooked, and didn't worth the price for lunch. Definitely not going back again!

Good Indian food, although not the best in the city. If you are planning to dine with a larger group, though, this is a great option because it is larger than most other Indian options around. Price is very reasonable and service is consistently good.

Gave this place a second try today. My husband and I always order veggie curries at Indian restaurants. This was by far the worst we have had in Omaha. The vegetables were previously frozen vegetables, like the same quality you buy at the grocery store with a mild non flavorful Indian sauce poured over them. The rice was undercooked. We're surprise this place gets a business with this quality of food. Try Maharaja across the street, they make very good Indian food!!!
