Villa Monte - Olhão

Dinner was overpriced and definitely not good value for what it was. Service was dreadfully slow. It was a big disappointment. The grounds are lovely.

We thought as a treat we would book 2 massages and lunch. We had a toddler and said can the toddler use the pool for 1 of the hours (in mind we are paying to be there or happy to pay more). They said no he would have to sit in the restaurant. To ask a toddler to sit for 3 plus hours in a restaurant is ridiculous. The manager did not bother coming out to us. To think that maybe they could be a bit flexible and gain more bookings seems strange. So we cancelled our booking. Sorry to say the service used to listen to their guests and we were regular local visitors…not any more.

Hotel and grounds are beautiful and spotless. Very well kept and managed. However we paid £400+ per night for the suite and on check out were informed that we only receive 6 coffee pods between us for the whole trip the rest were ‘mini bar’ and charged to us ‘You should have scanned the QR code and read the small print’ was their response. Even at a travel lodge you get free coffee!!! The shuttle to the beach is 20 euros per person. You are very secluded so be prepared to pay for everything x 10. Staff on the whole were attentive and pleasant but there were one or two that were totally clueless- we felt sorry for them for the lack of training etc. On the whole a pleasant stay but for the money we paid we would have expected that. Just be aware they charge you fresh air... and coffee pods!

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at this beautiful small Bo-Ho chic hotel. There is a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The rooms are divided into three houses, all of which are well located in beautiful surroundings. The food is International and good, while breakfast is exceptional and served on a balcony overlooking the Atlantic. A wedding was taking place during our stay which added to the romantic atmosphere.

Precioso restaurante dentro de un hotel. Cenamos en el jardín a la luz de lamparitas y velas. Accesibilidad desde el autopista y parking gratuito. El servicio excepcional, mucho personal. Agradecemos a Lara y al sumiller Joâo. La comida buena y bien presentada: el atún en la zona es exquisito, el mouse de chocolate, el arroz. Pero debo comentar una cosa que no nos gustó nada, quizá sea una nueva moda en Portugal, pues luego lo vimos en otros lugares. Cuando te traen la cuenta te incluyen la propina, en nuestro caso era mas de 30€, yo suelo dejar propina, pero el camarero te lo explica delante tuyo y si dices no es como si no te parece bien el servicio. No me parece bien, te sientes casi obligado y para el personal debe ser un mal trago.
