Patty Wagon - Oklahoma City

Love the Beany Burger!! Who would have ever thought a burger with chili, bean dip, and fritos could be so dang good!! Everything they have is unique and tasty!! Great milkshakes too!!

Quit smoking cigarettes a few years back, but I still have a cheeseburger every Thursday.  I like to mix it up, especially now that there are so many burger joints in town.  Seems like there's more burger stops than churches these days. So Patty Wagon is an old favorite— been eating their sandwiches since they were at the old trailer by the Hibdon Tire.  The Wagon makes a mean burger, but what really sets them apart is their amazing buns.  Imagine a toasted bun made out of hawaiian bread, yellow cake, and butter.  Okay, now imagine a juicy patty covered with cheese, fried onions, bacon, and a fried egg. Flavor explosion. French fries are also top-notch— freshly cut, a lot like Johnnie's fries when they used to be consistent.  Another cool thing about this joint is the long list of condiments and add-ons.  Hell, they even make their own special mayos! I like the spicy. Real friendly folks working here as well.  Thanks for lunch, PW!

The founder and original owner of the Patty Wagon started with a food trailer and eventually moved to this building for a permanent location.  It was great when it opened and did well until the owner became ill and eventually lost his fight.  It was very sad to see a young man with a lot of promise go before his time.  Fast forward to new ownership.  They have the same menu and same recipes that got this place off to a successful start.  The buns are slightly sweet and always very fresh.  They use good quality beef  and fresh toppings to make one of the better burgers around.  There are several standard burgers or you can have them dress it however you like.  They use fresh potatoes to make their fries.  Any high school kid can drop frozen fries in the fryer and get a decent product but it takes a bit more skill to properly cook a fresh cut potato.  They are good most of the time but not consistent.  Prices are reasonable for the quality.
