It was late for lunch and early for dinner, and they were busy; this is usually a good sign. The baked potato and T-bone were cooked to perfection, and the steak did not have unnecessary spices all over it. The chicken fried chicken was tender and crunchy, the cream gravy had the right amount of pepper, and the mashed potatoes were light and fluffy. The croutons were large circles of extra crunchy goodness. I had heard the salad dressing was magical, and when it was served I was mildly afraid. I am not a mayonnaise person, and this looks like a large dollop of mayonnaise on lettuce; I stirred it in really, really good, and must admit, it was good. The coconut pie was everything a coconut pie should be: good crust, rich creamy layer, then 2 inches of fluffy meringue, with toasted coconut on top, all without being excessively sweet. Oh, the whiskey sour was very tasty.
The steak was very mediocre. Although I did have the Sunday lunch special (16oz T-bone). Everything else was superior.
The steaks are awesome. The staff is very friendly and works together to make sure all the customers have a nice experience.
We were in the back room an I understand you have to set the temp for the whole place but we froze in there...the fan was blowing right down our backs those 4 on the wall an the others said they felt it on their feet an legs..next time will have to bring a shaw or sweater
