Appalling Service. We went to Chaminar Reynella for dinner on a Sunday and arrived just before 6 pm.. We went to the counter and asked if there was an available table. An unsmiling man said with a wave of the arm “you can sit somewhere over there”! So finding our own table he then brought us the menus, put them on the table and without a word left again. His entire attitude was unfriendly and unwelcoming. There were just 3 other tables occupied when we arrived. When we walked in, one group arrived just before us, another two groups after us. We looked at the menus, decided what we wanted to order and then waited and waited.. In the meantime, no one came and asked if we would like to order drinks or offer water. Behind the counter was another man standing doing nothing with his arms crossed, the unsmiling man was on the phone.. it seemed to have been a private call as I saw him being given the “cut it” sign by the man with his arms crossed. There was just one waitress taking orders, she didn’t seem to know in what order customers had arrived, she took the orders from the 2 groups who had arrived after us! After 25 minutes of not being served and guessing that the meals would take a whole lot longer to come out we left. Told the waiter, that it was taking too long, he didn’t care. Won’t be going back. This place needs to realise that customer service and a friendly welcome goes a long way! Appalling Service. We went to Chaminar Reynella for dinner on a Sunday and arrived just before 6 pm.. Used to be ok, now going down hill fast. Walked in and had to wait 10 minutes to be served at lunch time. All we could here when we walked in was some banging of pots and pans in the back. We actually got served from the cook. Not sure what happened to the waiter? The food was ok. The feel we get at this place is very cold. They want your money but don't want to give you the service. Sad, sad ,sad.......
We had a wonderful dining experience at Nirala. We went with another couple, which allowed us to sample a wide variety of appetizers and main courses, all of which were well-prepared and delicious. The waiter was very attentive and made sure to accommodate our preferences for spice levels. Bringing our own drinks was not an issue, and they kindly provided us with containers to take home some leftovers.
I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough! I've tried nearly every Indian restaurant in Adelaide, and this one is my favorite. Their quality is consistently outstanding every single time. The cheesy naan bread is the best I've ever eaten—super soft and full of cheese! My top picks are the saag paneer and eggplant curries. The dine-in experience strikes a perfect balance between elegance and a laid-back vibe, featuring great music, excellent service, reasonable prices, and free BYO!
