Jiffy Grill - odessa

Traveling between Port Hope and Ottawa, was tired of the typical OnRoute fair, decided to venture off the highway. Was not disappointed. The place gives off a greasy spoon kind of diner right away, (not a bad thing) I came in craving a burger of some sort, but was sold on the Smoked meat deluxe. Food was plentiful and tasty. Was served by the cook. He seemed genuinely pleased and proud of what was being presented, very nice to seem some pride in one's work. Very charming place good value for your dollar

Only reason I'm giving this place a 2 star is because the servers are very nice, they deserve to be able to serve better food, the French onion soup is the WORST I've ever had, the quesadilla, ranks up there also as one of the worst I've ever had, so flavorless! and for $30 I'd expect a lot less, it's the last time I'll be eating there, and I work just down the street.

I placed a takeout order based off of the online menu. Chicken burger was more like a chicken sandwich on a bun. It was not a breaded patty which is what I expected. Deep fried pickles were okay but I have had much better before.

Great service, very nice people. The food was excellent.
