Bidrage med feedbackI wouldn't recommend this place. While the coffee is reasonably priced and tastes okay, the service is quite poor and comes with an unpleasant attitude. They don't take written orders, even for six drinks, which leads to mistakes, and instead of resolving them, the staff argued about it. They also spilled one drink and had to remake it but charged us for both. I can see why this shop is up for sale.
Just the other day, I stood in line and waited to be acknowledged, but I was completely ignored. Then, someone who arrived after me was served first because it seemed like she was a regular. Her order was larger than mine, yet I still went unnoticed. To make matters worse, when I saw her total, it was clear that she must have received a discount, which I found perplexing. A few days ago, I had asked about receiving a discount after accidentally spilling my drink all over my car, only to be told that they don’t offer discounts to residents. Feeling ignored and dismissed, I decided to leave without my drink, as I wasn’t about to pay $8 twice for something I never even got the first time. I won’t be returning to this place. I don’t care if they don’t mind my absence, but I hope my fellow customers take note. I simply cannot tolerate being ignored like this.
I ordered a lox and cream cheese bagel topped with tomatoes and capers. The portion was generous, fresh, and absolutely delicious. They also prepared my coffee just right.
We have been coming to Ocracoke every year for the last decade, and one of the highlights of our mornings has always been a visit to this coffee shop. It used to be the perfect start to the day, but sadly, the atmosphere has steadily declined, particularly this year. There's one individual, who I believe is a part-owner (man with long hair and a beard), who has been consistently rude to both myself and other customers during my visits this year. He seems utterly disinterested in his job, and unfortunately, that attitude is evident in the overall customer experience. He ignores customers until they’re visibly frustrated, then reluctantly takes orders without making eye contact or offering any courtesy. Orders are shoved at you with a clear lack of care, and there’s no acknowledgment or appreciation for returning customers. If I wanted to be treated this poorly, I would have stayed in the Northeast. It’s disappointing because this coffee shop has always been a significant part of my beach experience, but after this year, I won’t be coming back. I’ll also be advising my friends, who frequent the island, to avoid wasting their time or money here. It’s a shame to see how the branding and reputation have been tarnished by such poor treatment of customers, and I imagine they’ll have a hard time recovering from this especially if they want to sell.
Extremely disappointing on how the man with the salt pepper beard ignores and poorly treats the tourists. He prefers to drink his drink, walk around behind the counter all acts to prevent helping and welcoming the next customer in line and take the order. He is rude and at the end of the customers transaction, he refuses to thank the customer for the business. He touches his nose and doesn’t wash his hands; doesn’t wear gloves after handling cash; remarkable that customers are not ill. I won’t be back and advise others to reconsider. Total lack of customer service, it’s strange how tourists put up with his rudeness. The energy of the employees is a reflection of how the guy with the dark hair and salt pepper beard is negative and rude. If you are a local he treats you with semi decent attitude. OCC is a thumbs down of disappointment. Don’t drop your money in this place. There are other coffee places on the island that appreciate the business tourists bring.
