Tony Luke's - Ocean City

I visited this restaurant a few days ago with two friends. We ordered Maryland seasoned fries, a cheesesteak, and a burger. Unfortunately, the cashier was not friendly at all; she seemed really annoyed that we had approached the counter. I tried to overlook that since we all have off days. However, we were the only customers in line, and it was pouring rain outside—definitely not ideal beach weather. We ended up waiting in the rain for 25 minutes for just these three items. I noticed through the windows that three of the cooks were seated, looking at their phones, which I pointed out to my friends, who suggested we leave instead. Finally, after an excruciating 25 minutes, we received our food and dug in, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. My fries were cold and soggy, while my brother thought the cheesesteak should be taken off the menu because it was excessively greasy and also cold. My boyfriend didn’t enjoy the burger at all and said we might as well go to McDonald's next time. Given the boardwalk prices and the portion sizes, I think I’ll pass on this place in the future.

My family and I had a great experience enjoying our cheesesteaks! I’ve heard that this place has the best cheesesteaks around, and they certainly lived up to the hype. Bianca was wonderful; she took excellent care of us with her friendly and helpful demeanor, especially when handling our large family order. She even offered to take a family photo for us, which was such a nice touch. It’s refreshing to encounter such great customer service these days!

Was it good? Not really. It was very plain and lacked flavor. The bread and meat were both chewy. There were no toppings—just meat and cheese. I spent $14 for a portion that was barely enough for one person. I definitely wouldn't order it again, as I've had much better cheesesteak sandwiches before. It felt overpriced and disappointing. On the bright side, it was a quick option for a late-night snack, and I didn't have to wait long for it.

The staff was quite reserved and didn't offer much assistance. The service was slow. I overheard them telling a neighboring business, just two doors down, that they couldn't deliver an order of fries there, even if it was an online order. I didn't appreciate that. I used to work at Tony Luke's in Philly, and the service there was much better. Additionally, I was not a fan of how the bacon fries were served in a bag.

I had high expectations! I ordered a chicken cheesesteak with cheese whiz, no tomatoes, but I received a beef cheesesteak without the cheese whiz! I don't eat red meat! It was too far to go back. Luckily, I ordered wings as well! They were good, but lacked seasoning or sauce. I'm really disappointed that I spent so much and can't eat the hoagie I ordered! Please double-check your orders!
