Dead Freddies Island Grill - Ocean City

I really love the food and atmosphere here. I’ve brought the family for dinner every time we’ve visited OC. You need to try the chowder and the crab dip appetizer. So good. A note on kids meals- my kids pretty much only order Mac and cheese, and the Mac and cheese they serve kids seems like it’s just Kraft Mac and cheese. Which is good, because they actually eat it, but also feels like a bit of a rip off for the cost of a kids meal. That being said, great place, great food. Even with 4 kids inflating the bill; we will be back next time we’re in town.

We arrived right at opening time for lunch and were seated immediately with no wait. The service was average, and the food was decent but nothing exceptional. The restaurant features an outdoor playground and several TVs scattered throughout. Prices are typical for a beachside restaurant. The pirate theme adds a fun touch, and the food selection is decent. Without the playground, I’d rate this place a solid three stars at best.

Dead Freddies is a well-known spot along Coastal Highway and a must-visit when you're in town. It offers something for everyone, whether you're visiting with kids, enjoying a date night, or out to meet new people. The staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and attentive. This time, we had the pleasure of being served by Demarco, who went above and beyond for us. One of his best tips was for my 3-year-old son, who wanted a "shark attack" drink. Demarco took the time to explain how to handle the grenadine so my son wouldn't make a mess. My go-to meal is the blackened tuna steak, which is always served over delicious wasabi mashed potatoes. Do yourself a favor and make sure to add Dead Freddies to your must-visit list, no matter what brings you to Ocean City.

These mozzarella balls were amazing! The environment, food, service, and play area for kids was perfect. A bit pricey but so is everything in ocean city during the summer. We will be returning!

We had an amazing time at Dead Freddies! I ordered the fish tacos, and they were absolutely delicious! The spicy aioli sauce was fantastic! I also had a side of pasta salad, which was flavorful, light, and fresh! My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and he really enjoyed it! The restaurant has a wonderful Caribbean beach vibe as well. I highly recommend it!
