Actually ok except if you don't have to eat anything you need 1€ if you use the toilet I don't find ok because otherwise there are no toilets

Read on the homepage: “Our mountain restaurant Wanderheim Brandenkopf is located in the middle Black Forest and is ideal for hikes, family celebrations, class meetings and economic festivals!” And indeed I met the local situation on one of my first business trips in the last century. The current operator pair, Roland Doerr and Beata Kociuba, was probably not at the beginning. But the impressive Steinausblickturm am Brandenkopf has been standing since 1929 and offers a great view of the Vosges and the Swabian Alb. The nearby hiking house with mountain restaurant is also oriented for visibly larger dimensions. The building in the usual Black Forest architecture houses several accommodation rooms and huge guest rooms for over 100 people, with a spacious beer garden at the foot of the tower. Something's here in summer. In mid-October, however, there are few sprinkled hikers and cyclists, although the restaurant is apparently open around the year. One of the interiors thus receives a gloomy light, which is also caused by the shocking, excellent forest axis. In the toilets in the cellar it is even completely dark. Not very welcome at first. Carefully I ask the counter if self-service exists. But yes, it's served, I should just sit down. So I put myself in the side room where a young couple with small children already eat at noon. The room is furnished with a huge wall painter with a black forest view, as the tourist imagines. Simple and functional guest house furniture, stone tiles, wooden ceilings, but all clean and well maintained. The serviceman is friendly, versed and obviously has experience. With the still undecided food, I first order a small Johannisbeerschorle (2,00 Euro) and a Mirabellenschnaps (3,00 Euro). Both are served quickly, fresh and slightly cooled. At first glance, I discover mainly carving and bims-like and goulash soup, where my mind is not. Although latezle are destroyed at the family table, I only discover this extra offer if I leave the building on a special map on the outside wall. The servant has not lost a word about it. As a somewhat subcooled feeling finally expands, I don't stay longer than necessary. I can pay in place, but not with the card. If I expressly request an invoice, I will only hand out a handwritten note, and I would suspect that such a large house, which is certainly well visited at other times, has other possibilities. The house has an informative homepage as well as Facebook and Instagram presence. There are numerous parking spaces available in front of the building, of course also for buses. And indeed there are special New Year Agreements: “Silvester without Halli Galli”. There's something to separate here. I'd rather make a visit in the summer. It doesn't always have to be a business trip.
