Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant is lovely, clean, quiet, and well-maintained, with friendly and prompt service. The portions are reasonable, even the junior size sandwich is a satisfying lunch option. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the meat, as it was watery and bland, reminiscent of the type found in chain burger restaurants rather than authentic Italian sandwich shops like California Sandwich. Additionally, the bread lacked the crust and freshness that one would expect from an establishment with "Italian" in its name. While the sauce was well-seasoned, it was a basic tomato sauce. The addition of cheese, mushrooms, bacon, and sweet paprika was a nice touch, but the option to add eggplant would come at an additional cost. The pricing of drinks was also peculiar, with a glass of coke or ginger ale costing $1.25, while the same amount in a bottle cost $2.25. However, they did offer unique options like Orangina and Brio as a nice touch.
My entire family got sick from eating at this restaurant, including myself, my husband, and our 14-month-old daughter who took a bite of our meatball sandwiches. It was a horrible experience. They were warned about their lack of cleanliness and failure to follow Health Canada regulations. I strongly advise staying far away from this place unless they improve their hygiene practices. It's not worth the risk of getting sick.
I've been here since it opened and met the owners. I can always rely on a freshly prepared sandwich and quickly prepared. there are not too many comfortable hot tables around, so a place for calf or hawn is great!
Had ordered an attempt by the kalbs for a birthday party and all 30 people said that they were the best calf they had in a long time. great work and thanks.
If you are looking for a truly authentic and homemade Italian panino sandwich, look no further than On a Bun. The Eggplant Parmesan was delicious! The option of two sizes is great and the sweet, light fresh tomato sauce was a highlight. I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful co-owner Angela, who makes everything from scratch. The steak with onions was also delicious. As an Italian, I know my sandwiches and I am relieved to find a place that is 100% authentic. The prices are excellent for the high quality of food you receive. These sandwiches are labor intensive with homemade sauce, hand-dipped veal and chicken, handmade meatballs, and fresh eggplant. That's what you get when you want a sandwich like your mom used to make. Just go and enjoy! Buon Appetito!
