Bru Restaurant - Oakville

We enjoyed a wonderful family dinner in bru in oakville, while Covid shutdown (summer 2020) where inside seats were either not allowed or badly visited. the staff went out of the way to make us comfortable, and that was delicious. I ordered the cal. and quinoa salad, which was fresh and material, perfect for a warm summer evening. the restaurant created a terrace on the gasse between the 2 restaurants they owned (bru and seasons.) I would recommend!

My husband and I visited this restaurant a few days after they were allowed to reopen for outdoor dining. We were seated right away by the only worker wearing a mask, while the other two employees, including the owners, did not bother to wear masks. This lack of concern for customers was evident. Although the tables appeared to be 6 feet apart, the chairs were not. Luckily, we found a spot away from other diners. The snacks we ordered were served by an employee who leaned too close to my face, showing a lack of understanding of social distancing. The crispy cauliflower was not as crispy as expected and the pommes were cold and soggy, clearly left sitting in the kitchen for a long time. Surprisingly, the food was served in cardboard containers with plastic cutlery, and our beer was served in a plastic glass. The owner mentioned that they were expecting visitors from Toronto, so they decided to serve food in takeout containers for safety reasons, which didn't make sense to me. The washrooms were dirty, with evidence of someone spitting on the seat and paper towels strewn on the floor. Overall, it was a disappointing and unpleasant experience. I will not be returning to this restaurant or their partner establishment, as the lack of care from the owners towards their customers was evident. If their goal was to encourage repeat business, they made a mistake.

I checked bru before, pc (prepared), but I thought a little update would be due. our family had taken out some paintings during the lockdown; the food, packaging and blocking system was excellent. I still miss sitting on the bar, but now we're gonna take what we can get. honestly, consistently the best takeout burger I had. (and I work in the inner city of toronto; I had a lot.) I hope we can get back in soon!

We got takeout from Bru tonight and all the meals were fantastic. I highly recommend the beef pasta and turkey club. Everything was ready on time and hot. It was incredibly convenient and a much-needed change during these times. Thank you, George!

We went to this restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday, but left feeling very disappointed. The service was extremely slow, with all three chefs chatting amongst themselves. When the server checked on our order, the chef made excuses about what our server had supposedly said when taking the order. Two of us ordered from the Taste of Oakville menu, while the others ordered salmon and ramen. Despite seeing orders getting prepared and served, we had to wait a long time for our food. One friend had to return her Pakora dish from the Taste of Oakville menu because it was burnt. They replaced it, but it was still partially burnt the second time. Unfortunately, none of the dishes we ordered met our expectations. My advice would be for the restaurant to stick to what they do best and not offer dishes that they cannot properly recreate, like the ramen and pakora. We may have just had a bad experience, but we are unlikely to give this restaurant another try. We ended up at this restaurant because Seasons was closed for a private event and they recommended this restaurant as their sister location.
