Love dropping by this spot for coffee or chai. Sometimes, I indulge and get a pastry. Of the 30-40 times I've been here over the years, I've never had a bad pour or bite.Kid-friendliness: I always see young families seated at the sidewalk tables.Parking: There is a parking lot behind Market Hall, although depending on the time of day (ie. Peak hours), it can be full. There is also metered street parking (the Park Mobile app is your friend if you don't have change), but if you're willing to drive around the block, you can find free parking in the surrounding neighborhood.Dietary restrictions: They offer 2 milk alternatives almond and oat.
Not third wave but okay for charred roast. Nicely presented. A bit slow
Title: Highwire Coffee: Shelter from the Storm 2024 03 29 Welcoming, Comfort, Connection Riding my motorbike through Berkeley 's rain soaked streets, I sought refuge and warmth at Highwire Coffee Roasters. Founded by coffee veterans with a mission to create a welcoming space, Highwire balances a rich coffee heritage with an inviting atmosphere, making it a haven for anyone looking to escape the rain 's chill. Inside, the ambiance melds comfort with a sense of community, offering a warm backdrop against the grey day. The service here stands out; as I peeled off my rain gear, a barista greeted me with a smile, suggesting I take the last cozy corner spot. Their suggestion of an extra hot cappuccino was more than just a drink—it was a gesture of warmth that lifted my spirits. The cappuccino, expertly crafted with a hint of richness only Highwire 's balanced roast can achieve, was a perfect companion to the rain drumming softly against the windows. It wasn 't just the drink that warmed me, but the entire experience—the friendly baristas, the inviting space, and the sense of belonging, even as a rain drenched motorbike rider. Highwire Coffee isn 't just about exceptional coffee or tea; it 's about the moments of connection and comfort it fosters. As I sat there, sipping my cappuccino and watching the rain, I was reminded of the joy found in simple pleasures and the warmth of human kindness.
Terrible coffee but mostly terrible service from the girl in the counter. Prepared me the wrong coffee, and when I told her that, she just spilled it to a different glass. The most doun level not respectful service I received all over CA so far. Shame.
