Bidrage med feedbackI purchased a donut that was labeled as vegan, but I later discovered that only the actual donut was considered vegan and not the topping. The topping was not vegan and caused me to become very ill due to my severe allergy. Despite knowing about my allergy, the staff failed to inform me of this issue. Be cautious when dining here as they may not fully grasp the concept of veganism. Some items marked as vegan cannot actually be modified to fit this dietary preference, such as the Fruity Pebbles option. Additionally, their vegan doughnuts are gluten-free and have a cake-like texture similar to Hostess snacks. While not my personal favorite, many of their unique flavors can still be made vegan - just be sure to inquire when ordering.
The vegan donuts at this restaurant, known as Vlugen, are not only vegan but also gluten-free. They are similar to the donuts from Babycakes, as they are more like baked donut shaped cakes rather than traditional donuts. I ordered a half dozen with a variety of toppings, but all the glazed donuts ended up being vanilla. Despite the mix-up, the donuts were tasty. The cinnamon sugar topping tended to slide off, so be prepared for that. At $15 for six donuts, I may not go out of my way to have them again, but I appreciate that they are being offered and would support the restaurant by visiting again in the future.
This place is amazing and the short drive worth from where I was in asbury park. the doughnuts are all vegan, what makes them not vegan or gf are the topping options... and there is a lot of amazing options.
These vegan donuts are not the typical crispy donuts that these are more cheerful than normal. they are delicious and very expensive.
