This is in the middle of America. The food and atmosphere was good. Great service.

Very average food. Decent salad bar. Unique atmosphere

Great place to stop on your way to Pierre or Rapid SD. We had the buffet everything was hot and good. The waiter was very nice ... I would stop again.

We stopped for a late lunch around 2:30 or so. The salad and soup offer was $10.00. I checked out the salad bar before making my decision, and I was surprised to see items, especially the dressings, appeared fresh and not like they'd been sitting for hours. The salad bar had several options. Besides creating a lovely crisp green salad, there was new potato salad, pasta salad, pea and macaroni salad, and another salad or two. There was also a melon trio and chocolate mousse. The soup, beef vegetable, had plenty of vegetables and was hot. The few little pieces of beef I got were tender, but, overall, the soup was lacking for me. Crackers were nearby. My husband ordered the hamburger steak and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. When the plate arrived, it came with mixed vegetables and a small yeast roll. I enjoyed half of the roll, and our dog enjoyed the other half. My husband said his food was good and cleaned his plate. I found the dishes and utensils were clean. That's huge in my book. The pies looked good, but we skipped them to get back on the road for home. Two ladies came in only for pie and coffee, so I think they must be regulars. Psst...they chose the lemon cream cheese pie.

We came late for the breakfast buffet, was good anyway. They were short staffed, other people had to wait, you could see there frustration. Oh,,and the special board, was misleading!!
