A Tavola - Nuits-Saint-Georges

I want to give A Tavola 3.5 stars; average is a bit mean but it's not quite very good. Your lucky day, 4 it is - don't want to be mean. Stopped for a quick lunch on our way through. Well located, convenient, nice atmosphere if slightly trendy but then it is town centre. Excellent service from a very helpful young man; (but do take the toothpick out of your mouth when talking to customers). Very tasty ham and bread stick aperitif, thank you. The only real issue was the pizza - I'm sorry, but I didn't think it was that good. The ham, cheese and mushroom toppings were not of a quality consistent with the price. The base was soggy. €14 for a pizza, even from a trendy bistro, and it needs to be a bit better.

As vegetarians the typical French menu is very challenging. We have learned to lean on the known: the veggie friendly Italian cuisine. A Tavola provided us with very good salads (Caprese and an Insalate Mista) along with a tasty Bufala mozzarella pizza. We nailed a Borgeone wine choice out of the list of French and Italian wines. All in we enjoyed our meal and left pleasantly full and happy.

Wow! very nice little place to escape and relax.
