Restaurant Ishihara - Nürnberg

Was with colleagues there and it became a wonderful evening - wonderful eating - fun watching the preparation. the local is attractively furnished. the service was impeccable. I'd like to go back.

An absolute experience offers this restaurant. excellent kitchen with absolute fresh quality. prepared directly at the table. very friendly and attentive staff and good price-performance ratio. always happy

Disclaimer: I travel to Japan a lot, so that's my reference.Ishihara in the Nürnberger Altstadt does a pretty good job in making itself as authentically Japanese as possible. The chefs and the dishes are all Japanese, and there are very few compromises. I recommend one of the set menus: it takes your mind off of ordering, and allows you to enjoy the company and the show. This is real Japanese teppanyaki, and not the overly showy performance you may get elsewhere.Good things: dishes,chefs, seasonings, menu composition, vegetables and mushrooms, Suntory whiskey and Japanese beers available, prices much better than Japan!Not-so-good things: Sushi could be better (but that's a problem in most of Germany), too much salt, beef is not quite up to Japanese standards, only one basic kind of sake available.

The restaurant was right next to my hotel so I just walked the five steps. Great food, and it was fun to watch the chef prepare dishes for three other people and then for me. Tasty food, a little pricey but not over-expensive.

That was my first time trying Japanese food and I'm impressed. I'm not such a seafood fan, but my family made me try some and it was much tastier than I expected. But the chicken was still my favourite. And the desert.. was the best!!! After a trip with the airplane is the perfect place to rest and have a nice and quiet evening drinking a hot Japanese wine, especially when it's cold outside And the best part is that you see how is your food made.The chefs are really nice and make a great spectacle.
