Bidrage med feedbackLearnt about this place by word of mouth. It is a working duck farm with a shop on site. They serve on Thursday through Sunday, midday and evening, BUT by reservation only. I contacted them by email and had a quick response. NOTE... RESERVATIONS essential, it's not due to it being full necessarily but they are working farmers, and also a market stall holder, and they do it all themselves. The restaurant is part of their farm and their home, in a side building. and delightful it is! The menus are simple, and being a duck farm it is centred around what they produce. On offer were two menus, one at 21 and the other at 25 euros. Wine is available, limited to a handful of reds, a rose and white but do expect local wines (which isn't a bad thing). They also serve wine by carafe, all at reasonable cost. The Foie Gras was excellent. The Magret was cooked, by own preference, to A Point... and this may be a little pink for some people. However, it was extremely good. The food is simple, home cooked, and locally sourced (on the farm). I will return without doubt. Do not expect fine dining. The setting is lovely, the people are lovely and the food was fantastic. Not quite 10/10 but not far off! A cheese board with a selection of five cheese, with accompanying salad and dressing, was left on the table for self serving plentiful. The dessert was simple; creme brulee was one option and thinly sliced fresh pineapple was another.
Having lived in the area for sometime we have spent a lot of our time enjoying the local wines and food, for our apartment clients information of course. The Ferme Auberge is a small family run restaurant, on their duck farm. They serve their own delicious produce and sell food gras and duck in their small shop along with perfect accompanying jams and chutneys. The restaurant itself is spotless and extremely warm and welcoming as are the owners, a lovely couple who tend to your every need. Nothing is too much trouble. The fois gras is delicious and light, served with a small salad and crusty bread. Our main course was duck breast with a very tasty jus, salad and potatoes. The duck was perfect, pink and succulent. Then cheese and dessert with coffee. A superb meal lovingly prepared and cooked by a family who are proud of their produce and farm.
