Bidrage med feedbackI get that food costs along with other operating costs are higher than before the pandemic, but customers should should still expect value, and management supervised recovery when things don’t go as planned.
Slow service as kitchen was the problem. Shrimp fried rice was EH, shrimp were tiny, few and far between while the taste was sweet! Not a fan! Fried chicken sandwich was way too crispy and the sauce was not what one would expect on a chicken sandwich. Prices were high for what you got!
Our server, Jamie, was outstanding. You just know when someone has the right personality to be doing what they're doing, and he certainly has that in spades. He was always there at just the right time, not rushing or hovering, but attentive and coming in at the perfect time. The food, as is our normal experience, was great. One comment about the Sea Bass. I do get this often, both here and at other restaurants, but here is always seems to have a bit of a chewy texture in the middle. I don't know if this is a result of how they thaw it, but other restaurants like PF Changs and Bonefish Grill never seem to have this happen. I would hope their food prep team would look into making this correction. Other than that, everything was spot on. Lastly, one of the managers named Kelsey (I hope I spelled that correctly) came over to see how things were going. It was a nice touch, and she was super friendly. I can highly recommend this restaurant and the team members mentioned above.
First time visit for 6 of 7 in our party and the service, food and experience overall was amazing! Kudos to Daniel our server for his patience and willingness to ensure everyone's needs were met and to Deshawn the GM who checked on us twice with personality plus! Truly grateful for a perfect outcome.
When they offer “still water” recommend you immediately specify “tap water” otherwise they will automatically open a bottle of Fiji Water and add that to your bill for an additional 8 dollars. Ripping us off on the water probably gave them a lot of pleasure. This review will not give them a lot of pleasure. Let’s begin with the theme and decor. The name “Kona” elicits thoughts of Hawaii and Polynesian culture. However, here you will find no Polynesian decor but rather a dark expansive lounge like setting with ambient smooth jazz. The menu similarly avoids Polynesian or Hawaiian cuisine but is more geared towards American Asian fusion. Here you will find cheeseburgers, sushi rolls, flat bread pizzas, Thai food, etc. the wide food varieties are almost schizophrenic. We started out with Avocado Roll appetizers. They were so tasteless that the dipping sauce was unable to help. The Pad Thai Noodles that I ordered stands out as the worst Pad Thai I have ever eaten (and I’ve eaten a lot of bad ones in my day). This had eggs so badly burned and charred as to become black burnt flecks and glops throughout that had to be picked out. How the cook, the chef and the server could allow this to get served to a customer is beyond me. The barbecue chicken flat bread was awful and my dining partner left most of it on the plate. This entire experience was patently awful and the worst part was getting the high bill at the end. We will never be back.
