Bidrage med feedbackThe food is fairly good, but wildly overpriced. We got the half plate with all 4 meats and it was 49. Ribs, brisket, and pork were tasty. The chicken had a texture we found unpleasant, but that was personal preference. We wanted to try the sauces and there was a .75 charge for each one which seems nuts at a BBQ restaurant. Not to mention all the meat came pre-sauced, why? The pickles veggies were yummy, the au grautin potatoes were underseasoned. Just potatoes with a huge glop of cheese sitting in a pool of seperated fat. Some of the better bbq we have had in tampa, but not at the current prices.
We've driven past this place so many times, and finally made a point to come in. The doors opened at 11a for lunch on Saturday, and we were the only ones in there for a while. The atmosphere in the bar area seems like a great place to chill at night with friends... but definitely in the daytime, too. When we sat down, our server brought us a small carafe of ice water, and it had mint leaves in it. I'm sure you could request plain water, but I liked the hint of mint.We ordered the half meat platter, and two sides. For two adults and two kids, we were full after. There were a few roasted veggies on the platter, which gave a little variety, too. I'm usually a big fan of mac n cheese, but I'm sorry to say that it wasn't my favorite creamy, but I think it had too many flavors going on, hard to decipher lots of people love it, just not me. I did like the baked beans though, they had a good bbq flavor. For $50, I don't know if the price was a good deal, but it was tasty and fed us all... so I felt it was decent.I like that you can try samples of the different sauces...for 75 cents each. And everyone has different preferences, so I won't say much, except the mango one was good with the chicken and the Dr. Pepper one was really sweet, but I liked it on the brisket (my husband disagreed, he liked their mop sauce)... but again, at 75c to try, you can pick a few. They have a fully stocked bar, and a nice outside area, so I imagine this place is hopping on a weekend night. If you want to try them out, I would suggest lunchtime, when it's not as crowded.Overall, the food was very good, as other reviews will tell you and I am pretty sure we will be back if we find ourselves on that side of town again.
I wanted to meet girlfriends for dinner and cocktails. I called first and asked about HHour specials. We went only to find out their are two different companies running it. If you want to sit outside there are no happy hour specials. The drink prices were OK, but not what I was told on the phone. And if you order food it comes from the other business, so you get 2 different checks! I ordered pork and it was very tough and hard to cut. It needed a steak knife to cut through it. I was hungry so ate it! My friends shared a seafood dish and liked it. Strange for the seafood to be better at a BBQ place! All in all it was OK once we got over the confusion.
Very underrated hidden gem in South Tampa! Stumbled across this spot and I'm in love. If you can't decided on the meat just do the platter and try it all!
Horrendous...after an hours wait with only 4 other tables in the place, they served a roast and called it brisket. The chicken was super dry, the slaw disgusting as it was pickled and the beans cold. It cost $85 for the three of us after drinking only water with the exception of my husband's one BloodyMary. We all walked away hungry. We will never be back. Ick.
