Rossi's - Novato

Me and my friends planned to stop here for a few beers before heading out to get drinks elsewhere. We ended up staying a good 2/3 hours. We sat outside on the patio drinking their beer on the tap and had a blast! We ordered some samosas and were straight chillen. If you need a place to kick it, this place definitely has a coo lil vibe going on.

I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich and was amazed! The sauce was tangy and sweet and the chicken had a wonderful complimenting mesquite flavor. Beer on tap was served in a chilled glass and made the experience even better! One of the cutest little hole in the wall delis. Feels like I'm out in the country relaxing while enjoying a beer. The owners are a wonderful couple who seem to have strong ties with the community. They gave out toys and bracelets to some children that walked in during my visit. Wonderful to see a mom and pop shop with heart.

These guys are crooks. Check the expiration of anything you buy here multiple times I've purchased things here that are expired including Oreos that we're almost a year past expiration. One star for fresh tamales for sale.

Rossi's reminds me of those small, out of the way country stores of my youth. Once upon a time they even had gas pumps out front. They have some prepared foods (tamales, samosa's, mango lassi's) as well as a deli for sandwiches. The owners also make these tasty stuffed jalapenos which pack a punch.There is even beer on tap. The small grocery store has a lot of interesting items. They have a good selection of Lottery tickets and are a Hot Spot location. I love the husband and wife owners. They are sweet and personable and the other employees are great too. They are clear across town from me but I often make the drive.

I visited the store to get a fishing license since they offer that service, rather than going to Big 5. I ended up waiting around 30 minutes while the staff tried to figure things out. When I was asked if I knew anything about computers, I felt a bit frustrated. He also attempted to overcharge me for the license, but when I refused, he reluctantly agreed to the original price he had quoted. Aside from that, I found everything from bait to accessories to be excessively overpriced. I won't be returning in the future.
