China Palace - Novato

I usually get the prawns with vegetables in a light garlic sauce and it’s always cooked to perfection. The vegetables are fresh, never overcooked and the shrimp is fresh as well. I get brown rice with it and that’s never mushy or overcooked. Love this place!

1. We were barely seated in our booth when a waiter approached us asking for drink orders. 2. Soup and dinner were served to us, but we were not provided with chopsticks, only a fork. No one checked in with us to see if everything was okay. 3. Our dinner could have been warmer, but no one came to address the issue. I had visited this restaurant about 2 months ago and noticed an improvement in service, but it seems they have reverted back to their old ways. It's a shame, as I may have to resort to getting takeout from China Palace or find a different restaurant that values its customers.

The food is very affordable and delicious. The service may not be the greatest, but everything else about the restaurant is excellent.

This was our go to for Chinese takeout. Something has definitely changed here, NOTHING tastes like it has in the past. Hot Sour soup was actually sweet...yuk! The beef with oyster sauce tastes different, they changed the mushrooms from white to baby bellas. Potstickers filling has a different spice, but the wrapper still is thick and appears like it did previously. Same issues with flavor on the pork fries rice, just a different spice mix that we didn't care for. If anyone knows of a change in ownership, new chef/staff please post. Food was piping hot from Grub Hub, but otherwise a disappointing experience.

I think the restaurant changed hands. It's not special anymoreRicky and his sister ran a tight ship, and I don't think they are there, nor their fab staff and Chef. We used to love it and went often, sigh!
