Bidrage med feedbackOne of my favourite pubs in Nottingham. Tried the 6 course taster menu for Burns Night and it was all delicious, prepared with care and it was great value for money. Compliments to the chef, (who my dog is also a big fan of. The staff were lovely as always. We look forward to going back soon.
This is the first time I have had food at the Vat and Fiddle and it was **** brilliant! Me and my girlfriend went on a whim for lunch one Sunday and got two vegetarian roasts for £12.95 each. I was initially skeptical since the Bread and Bitter (Castle Rock) once did me an expensive V roast that was tiny, but this was very generous (as a Sunday roast should be). The seitan meat substitute was delicious. I wondered if this was homemade since it tasted fresh. Needless to say, if so, this is a talent to make good, so hats off to the chef. The rest of the meal was definitely homemade the yorkie, stuffin, roasties and were all done extremely well. My only criticism is that I would’ve personally preferred for the veggies to be cooked a little longer the parsnips and carrots. However, the overall meal was a delight that we devoured. I would recommend this to any vegetarian, as well as the plant based option for those that way inclined. The staff were all very friendly who cared about delivering a good service that was quick and efficient. The drinks that accompanied our food were 2 pints of Elsi Mo that washed down our meal. This is a personal favourite that I would also recommend to punters and for them to also utilise the points system on the app a great and easy way to build up money for future drinks.
A great boozer! While I haven’t tried the food, the venue is lovely with very friendly staff and a fantastic selection of beer. It has the feel a classic community pub, something not often found these days.
While you still get a decent pint, the staffing standards have dropped considerably. Most of them have forgot there manners and very rarely say please or thank you or will just look straight through you as you wait to be served. The toilets are an absolute disgrace and I've smelled better septic tank's than the mens and the place as a whole needs cleaning up.
Visited the Vat and Fiddle for a change before pre-match trip to NFFC, bar full of NFFC supporters, plenty of staff for quick service, ample food menu and a pleasant atmosphere, well worth a pint or 3 of Skreech Owl.
