Daybrook Fish - Nottingham

This is the only genuine fish and chip shop I’ve discovered since relocating to Nottingham from Yorkshire more than ten years ago.

We used to visit regularly because the chips were the best in the area. However, during our last few visits, particularly while stopping by another restaurant closer to home, we've noticed that the chips have seemed less fresh. Additionally, the Chinese curry sauce was excessively salty on our last visit, making it inedible. I suspect there may have been a change in ownership, as I only recognize one of the staff now. Hopefully, they will address these issues and improve things in the future.

Tasty chips. Reasonable price. Friendly staff. Spot on.

Since moving to the area 3 months ago I have used this place many times however I will NEVER use it again. Tonight I went it said opens at 5, at 5.05 I knocked on the door as it was cold. I got a load of abuse from the Chinese man and told me to **** off mate if your reading this be thankful I was hungry as I wouldn 't have let you get away with that.RUDE

You won't regret dining here. They serve the best chips in the world!
