Service was extremely poor. They were not prepared for the number of guests. An action plan should be put into place for any other functions of that magnitude. Other than that it was very pleasant.
The cottages are situated remotely from the restaurants, I felt quite isolated and uncomfortable with that. The setting is lovely but overlooks a busy freeway in the distance and noisy. The cottage was comfortable and tastefully decorated. It is however completely self catering, there is no shampoo dispenser nor hairdryer etc. The bath is lovely.
Fascinating place filled with memorabilia with magnificent views and great cocktails. Look out for the loo with a view, tap the rock gong to hear the clear sound, find the gin-dispensing heart-lung machine and ask about the touching story behind Lara Craft's beer.
Great affordable place to stay and you can actually walk around explore, with various farm animals all around and a few dams you can relax and spend the day at. The accommodation is quaint warm in winter thanks to sufficient heating options. Heated floors, electric blanket and a fire place. I highly recommend as a place to stay if you are visiting the Nottingham road area
